Gerald saga: Part 2
Autos & Wirtschaft & Recht is the sequel to the Tinder sitcom Gerald. After Gerald was uploaded to YouTube, a business student took to the comments to express outrage at the film’s very existence, musing on whether art ought not to serve an economic purpose instead. This film blindly follows those sentiments, while questioning – among other things – the construct of "modern art."
Following the success of his work Gerald, the artist Nicklas Hoffmann receives a visit from a renowned curator. After his interpretations of the genres of "socially critical," "abstract," "documentary," and "political" art fail to meet the curator's expectations – and just as she is about to take her leave – he presents her with a commercially oriented art project: balloon cars displaying the exchange rates of the euro and the US dollar. With the curator now visibly satisfied, his wealth and fame are assured.
